Rome: ADR Security airport strike on 13 September 2026 (24 hours)

Security staff employed by ADR Security at Rome's Fiumicino and Ciampino airports are scheduled to strike for 24 hours on Sunday 13 September 2026, from 00:00 to 24:00, in an action called by FAST-Confsal. The dispute centres on what the union describes as punishing shift patterns for screening staff; a first strike in early July saw around 75% participation at both airports, and the union has demanded direct talks with ADR management.

Passengers should expect longer queues at security checkpoints throughout the day at both airports, with knock-on delays to boarding. Flights in the protected time bands (07:00–10:00 and 18:00–21:00) are guaranteed, but security screening may still be slower than usual even in those windows — arrive earlier than normal and check your flight status before travelling. A separate four-hour ground-handling strike at the same airports (11:00–15:00) may add to delays in the middle of the day.
