Netherlands: NS rail strikes over CAO pay (FNV Spoor/CNV/VVMC) — 5 regional stoppages 6–17 June 2026, suspended pending member vote

Dutch railway operator NS and the rail unions FNV Spoor, CNV and VVMC failed to agree a new collective labour agreement (CAO) in May 2026: NS initially offered 2.55% while the unions demanded 4%. The unions held a series of five regional rolling rail strikes — Fri 6 June (Regio Midden; near-nationwide disruption), Tue 10 June (West), Thu 12 June (Noord-West & Oost), Fri 13 June (Noord & Zuid) and Tue 17 June (national). NS subsequently improved its final offer to 4% from March 2025 plus 2.75% from March 2026, and the unions (with VVMC, the largest NS union, leading) suspended further action to put that offer to a member vote. This CAO dispute is SEPARATE from the 24 June 2026 nationwide public-transport strike against government social-security cuts.
