Spain: national train drivers’ strike on Feb 9–11, 2026

SEMAF, CCOO and UGT canceled the national rail strike from February 10–11, 2026 after reaching an agreement with the Ministry of Transport, but three smaller unions — SFF‑CGT, Sindicato Ferroviario and ALFERRO — are maintaining 24‑hour stoppages on February 10 and 11, so service disruptions continue at Renfe, Adif and private operators.

The civil service union CSIF announced support for the 24-hour rail strikes on February 9, 10 and 11 across Renfe and Adif, adding to calls already registered by SEMAF, CCOO, UGT, USO and Sindicato Ferroviario. The Transport Minister scheduled talks for February 4, but no cancellation has been announced.

Beyond SEMAF’s train drivers, USO, CCOO, UGT and Sindicato Ferroviario have filed strike calls at Renfe and Adif, and on‑board service provider Serveo will also strike. SEMAF confirms the action covers Renfe (all services), Iryo, Ouigo and major freight operators.

CCOO has called strikes in Renfe and Adif for February 9–11, aligning with the three-day national rail stoppage initially called by SEMAF after the Adamuz and Gelida accidents. Reporting also notes backing from Sindicato Ferroviario and CGT, broadening participation beyond train drivers.

CGT’s rail federation (SFF‑CGT) has joined SEMAF’s national rail strike for Feb 9–11, broadening the call beyond train drivers; dates remain unchanged.
