Sellafield, Cumbria: nuclear construction workers strike on 15–21 June 2026

Nearly 2,000 Unite members employed by ~31 subcontractors at the Sellafield nuclear site in West Cumbria had planned to strike from 15 to 21 June 2026 over a site-specific allowance reflecting specialist and hazardous working conditions. On 10 June 2026 Unite postponed the planned action to allow meaningful discussions with the employers to take place; Cumbria police were stood down. If talks fail, action may be re-announced with new dates (a new record will be created).
